Steve Bedrosian

Pitching Coach
Coach Bedrosian graduated in 1975 from Tenny High School in Methuen, MA. He attended the University of New Haven, CT studying criminal justice for three (3) years.
He was drafted in the 3rd round in the 1978 major league draft by the Atlanta Braves and played 3+ years of minor league ball with stops in Kingsport, TN (Rookie), Greenwood, SC (A), Savannah, GA (AA) and Richmond, VA (AAA). He was called up to the Atlanta major league club in 1981 and played with them for five (5) years earning Rookie Pitcher of the Year by Sporting News in 1982 and a Western Division Title.
He was then traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1986, acquiring 106 saves in three (3) years and earning the coveted Cy Young award in 1987 and a spot on the Major League All-Star Team. He then was traded to the San Francisco Giants in June of 1989 for Charlie Hayes, Terry Mullholland and Dennis Cook, and then advanced to the infamous “Earthquake” World Series. He was traded in 1991 to the Minnesota Twins, where they proceed to win the World Series vs. the
Atlanta Braves in seven (7) games.
After retiring in 1992 due to a pitching hand injury, he made a comeback and pitched three (3) more productive years for the Atlanta Braves (1993-1995), being part of the 1995 World Championship Team. Coach Bedrosian now resides in Coweta County with his wife Tammy and their five children (Kyle, Cody, Carson, Cameron and Katelyn). He also serves as Chairman on the Coweta County School Board.
